How To: Connect to the mySQL database services.
How To: Connect to the mySQL database services.
Solution
The Sanity Technology mySQL database engine is a high performance clustered network of servers that are independant of the web server network.
This means that you will be unable to connect to the mySQL database service via the database host 'localhost', and if you attempt this, you will see an error message similar to the below:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
If you are seeing this error, please be aware that the database host name that must be used is:
db.sanitytechnology.com
The default host name entered for many applications is 'localhost', which is designed for standard hosting networks - however the Sanity Technology hosting network is a unique high performance clustered farm configuration. Therefore, wherever you see 'localhost' entered for the mySQL host name, please enter 'db.sanitytechnology.com' instead.
If problems persist, please submit a ticket via the online support system.
