How To: Initially setup Websites and E-Mail addresses.
How To: Initially setup Websites and E-Mail addresses.
Solution
To get your new hosting account operational, you first need to login to the customer control panel via the login form at the top of:
http://www.sanitytech.net/
Once logged in, you will be faced with a number of options. If you have already registered a domain name, this domain name must be added into the DNS Management section - if you don't already have a domain, please visit
http://www.sanitydomains.com/
to purchase domain names.
Once the domain has been added to the DNS Management section, it will be added to the Sanity Technology domain name servers. This makes the domain name available for delegation and qualifies it for the creation of e-mail addresses and websites for the domain. Once complete, you can now click to Control CP Home, and then click on Websites Management, and select to create a new website.
To create e-mail addresses, return to the Control CP Home and click into the E-Mail Management section. You can create new e-mail accounts and forwarders here. For example, to create a 'catch-all' for all e-mail address combinations for your domain and forward it to an existing e-mail address, create a new e-mail forwarder with the name 'default', select your domain name and enter the e-mail address to forward all e-mail to.
Finally, if you did not purchase your domain name through Sanity Technology, you will need to change the 'Domain Name Servers' on the domain, to the following via your domain name's management interface:
ns1.sanitytechnology.com
ns2.sanitytechnology.com
If you have trouble finding the options to set the domain name servers for your domain, please first contact your domain name provider. If you continue to have problems, feel free to submit a ticket to us and we will do our best to help - however our ability to assist with domains that were not purchased through Sanity Technology is limitted.
Please note, the name server changes and website creation can take between 3-12 hours. Under some circumstances, this time period can be expedited, if you require this please contact us.
Once this period has passed and the updates have occurred, you will have a working domain with e-mail addresses and a basic web-site configuration started, so that you can receive and send e-mails, and FTP into your site via using your domain name as the hostname with your favourite FTP client such as cuteFTP.
Good Luck! If you have any queries or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us via the support center.
